Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) of mushrooms (like cremini or button), cleaned and sliced
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves)
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Mushrooms
Thoroughly clean the mushrooms and slice them to your preferred thickness.
Cook the Mushrooms
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become tender and golden brown. Once cooked, remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set them aside.
Make the Creamy Garlic Butter Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Combine Ingredients
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.
Add Seasonings
Stir in the dried thyme (or fresh thyme leaves) and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer and Finish
Continue cooking the sauce for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until it reaches your desired consistency.
Combine with Mushrooms
Return the sautéed mushrooms to the skillet, gently stirring to coat them evenly with the sauce.
Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve your Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Mushrooms warm, either as a side dish or over pasta or rice.
Enjoy the rich flavors of garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese, perfectly complemented by the creamy sauce and earthy mushrooms. Adjust seasoning to your liking and serve immediately for the best experience!
